Municipal solid waste biopower

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) generation, often called MSW, uses direct combustion technology to combust garbage. This process first involves separating out combustible garbage. Then, the garbage is incinerated in a furnace or fluidized bed combustor to create heat. The heat is used to create steam for use in a steam turbine. Although the feedstock of MSW does not come directly from biomass, MSW generation is often treated as biopower for regulatory purposes.
